Prayer #1

Dear God,

Give me the courage to begin again – to overlook the difficulties, to overcome the obstacles and to stay open to the moment as best I can.

Help me be patient enough to know it takes time to start over, and wise enough to ask for help from friends and family when I need it. As I look to the future, may I reflect on the past and remember the lessons it’s taught me. And God, may I always look to you for strength and guidance.

Lord, you know the things that are crowding my heart a bit today. And I give you every worry, every burden, and every detail that’s weighing heavily on my heart.  Thank You that I don’t have to do life, this week, or this day in my own power. Thank You that I get to walk with you moment by moment. Thank You for carrying my burdens. Thank You for the gift of getting to bring every burden to You in prayer.

Prayer #2

Heavenly Father,

I feel that I am stepping out onto the threshold of a completely new beginning with a total change in my lifestyle.

Lord I know that this is a wonderful opportunity that You have graciously opened up for me and I pray that You would be with me to lead and guide, as I seek to become accustomed to so many changes in my life.  I pray that You would remain ever close to me and that I do not stray far from Your side or become lukewarm in my attitude towards the things of God.

Help me to keep my eyes firmly fixed on Jesus and to trust all I say and do into Your capable hands. Provide I pray all that I need to carry out the tasks and duties that I am called upon to do with grace and courage, and I pray that my joy would be firmly fixed in Jesus and that I may be strengthened with all power from above, in Jesus name I pray,  Amen

Prayer #3

O God,

I find myself at the beginning of another day.

I do not know what it will bring.

Please help me to be ready for whatever it may be.

If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely.

If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly.

If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently.

If I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly.

I pray just for today, for these twenty-four hours,

for the ability to cooperate with others according to the way Jesus taught us to live.

“Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

May these words that he taught us become more than words.

Please free my thinking and feelings and the thinking and feelings of others,

from all forms of self-will, self-centeredness, dishonesty, and deception.

Along with my brothers and sisters,

I need this freedom to make my choices today according to your desires.

Send your Spirit to inspire me in time of doubt and indecision so that, together, we can walk along your path.

Amen.
