4.Learning to Open Your Bible

If reading scripture was like brushing your teeth, how would your teeth look?

Would you stand proudly for a selfie with your girlfriends? Or would you be the one in the back with a closed mouth grin?

I didn’t grow up reading my Bible consistently. Like many, as I grew older I have gotten better about it. Over the last few years it has become just as important in my daily routine as brushing my teeth is!

I love the new habit I’ve created because it has brought me a lot of peace and contentment, and most importantly, I better hear God’s voice because I understand what I am listening for.

Scripture is what has helped me recognize that all of the strategies I’ve listed here in this article are actually strategies to connect me back to God!

We often cry out to God to hear his voice loud and clear when we need to make a decision or we are starting to feel a restless need for change in our hearts.  If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him (James 1:5)

Scripture is such a good source of wisdom! But you have to open your bible to receive this wisdom! I have found more times than I can count that God has revealed to me just what my heart needed through scripture, and I pray He does the same for you!

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.- Romans 10:17
